What’s the point of opening the car door in the middle of doing burnouts? Just needing that extra little bit of stupid?

I have a lanky/tall friend with a classic car, bench front seat never did slide back far enough. He dropped the clutch, lifted his leg, his knee hit the classic style door handle operated with a rotating motion, door flies open. Mid-donut here he is sliding sideways out the door, bench seats with only lap belts don’t do much.

thought we were going to die, his death grip on the steering wheel enable him to remain partially in the car and stop us before we slid into a creek.
